One of the things I find most fun about Ladies Who Lunch & Love is the tour of the various locations that Vikki, Krissy, Rebecca, Lauren and the narrator visit. As the narrator says, New York is “the true love of his life.” We share that sentiment about the greatest city in the world.
So, every Thursday I’ll highlight one of the fabulous locations in the book in “Tour Thursdays.” Check out these wonderful places and let me know what you think (and if you agree that they are great too). Cheers with gimlets & Patron shots!
(Note: New York is like fashion when it comes to venues, “one minute you’re in and the next you’re out.” So some of the locations may be closed by publication).
From Chapter 1 – Love & the City
“The good news was that the Time Warner Center was only a couple more blocks away. I had convened this celebration at Stone Rose, one of my favorite bars. Great drinks, a killer view of Columbus Circle and Central Park, and its eclectic mix of people from the cool to the corporate made it so.”

“Terrific views of Central Park” and Columbus Circle complement an “elegant” interior at this Time Warner Center bar/lounge, where a “mix of businesspeople and tourists” sips “high-quality cocktails” delivered by “waitresses who think they’re models”; naturally, the tariffs “aren’t cheap”, but it rises to the occasion even if you “won’t be able to pay your cable bill” afterwards.
Ladies Who Lunch & Love, the dazzling debut novel from former Essence magazine columnist and NAACP Image Award nominee, Nathan Hale Williams, is the story of four fabulous New York society women navigating life and love while sharing their gay best friend. Not your typical snobs or real housewives, these ladies are down-to-earth, relatable women who know how to have a great time even when confronting life’s challenges. Over the course of a year, our narrator and the ladies go on a journey that forces them to examine their lives and choices, yet enjoying the glamorous side of NYC living like you’ve never before seen.
