Soul singing icons, Patti Labelle and Aretha Franklin performed live for President Obama and the First Lady at the White House in March for the concert, “Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House.”  The taped show will air tonight on PBS at 9pm EST.

Labelle and Franklin are joined by Jill Scott,  The Voice winner Tessanne Chin, Janelle Monae, Ariana Grande and Melissa Etheridge.  Patti sings her incomparable version of “Over the Rainbow” while Franklin delivers, “I Never Loved A Man” and “Amazing Grace.”

With those two on the mic along with the pipes of the younguns plus Etheridge, I will definitely be tuning into this show.  Lungs will be left on the floor!
