NEW MUSIC TUESDAYS – It’s no secret that I rarely like new music and new artists. I am still caught in a 90s time warp and most of the new artists that come out really don’t cut it against the artists on rotation on my personal playlist. But, I LOVED this song, “CALL” by 18-year old Canadian prodigy, Francesco Yates the first time I played it. I think you’ll groove to it too!
I’m definitely looking forward to the entire CD (and the remixes).
Francesco is an eighteen year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto, Canada. His musical influences range from classic rock legends such as Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin & Freddie Mercury of Queen to timeless soul powerhouses, Donny Hathaway & Stevie Wonder. On his debut album he has enlisted the help of heavy-hitting producers Pharrell Williams and Robin Hannibal of Rye/Quadron (Kendrick Lamar, B.O.B.).
Francesco has most recently been featured on Pharrell’s G I R L album, playing guitar on “Gust of Wind (featuring Daft Punk)” and is ready to make some noise in the game on his own with his infectious single, “Call.” The video for “Call” mixes haunting vignettes of a beautiful woman with dynamic performance set ups with Francesco. “Call” is produced by Robin Hannibal and written by Francesco Yates and Matt Morris. The video is directed by DJay Brawner.
